Valuation of a marquetry table attributed to Molitor in our next auction in Orleans

Philocale auction house, in Orleans, in collaboration with our experts specialized in free valuation and free appraisal will auction a French marquetry table attributed to Bernard Molitor, Saturday 19th February in Orleans.

 

Table tricoteuse dite table en auge en bois de placage marqueté de losanges pointés d'amarante, le plateau ovale s'ouvrant par un abattant, piétement en lyre réuni par une tablette d'entrejambe. Plateaux ceinturés d'une astragale et d'une galerie repercée de bronze doré.
Début du XIX siècle, attribuée à Bernard MOLITOR, reçu maître en le 26 octobre 1787

Accidents et manques au placage

Note :
Apparue vers 1785, la marqueterie de losanges pointés se retrouve sur plusieurs meubles de Molitor, RVLC et Carlin.
Notre table en auge est caractéristique par son dessin et sa marqueterie de celles produites par Molitor.
Le Mobilier National conserve une table identique à la nôtre à la même galerie repercée à décor de rinceaux (GME-15616-000)
