Valuation of a Biedermeier sofa from an illustre collection, sold

Guillaume Le Floc'h auctioneer, in Paris and Saint-Cloud, in collaboration with our experts specialized in free valuation and free appraisal sold at auction a Biedermeier mahogany sofa from the collection of the duchess of Dino and Sagan at the castle of Rochecotte, auction Sunday 06th October in Saint Cloud.

 

Grand canapé à dossier droit en acajou et placage d’acajou, les chevets arrondis ornés de dauphins et d'ailes de chauve-souris, la base à large bourrelet reposant sur quatre petits pieds (éclats).

Époque Biedermeier.

Haut. : 95 cm – Larg. : 222 cm – Prof. : 70 cm

Plaque métallique estampée : « Eigenthum der Fürstin Dorothée zu Fürstenberg » cachée par la garniture.

Vignette bleue « Propriété de la Comtesse Jean de Castellane » visible.



Provenance :

Probablement collection de la Duchesse de Dino et Sagan (1793-1862) au château de Rochecotte acheté le 30 avril 1828. Sa petite fille, Dorothée de Talleyrand-Périgord (1862-1948) épouse le Prince Charles Egon IV de Fürstenberg puis Jean de Castellane.
