Valuation of a set of three chairs by Rateau in our last auction in Orleans


Column Appraisal and valuation, Furniture and works of art

Philocale auctioneer in collaboration with our experts specialized in free valuation and free appraisal auctioned a set of three chairs by Armand Albert Rateau identical to the one from the Jeanne Lanvin shop on the Champs Elysées, Saturday 28th April at the chateau de La Fontaine in Olivet.

 

Armand-Albert RATEAU (1882-1938). Trois chaises au modèle, c. 1928, en merisier vernissé à dossier renversé arrondi sculpté d'une volute, pieds arrière sabre et pieds avant fuselés à bague cubique rainurée en partie haute. Recouvertes de velours vert moutarde (usagé).
H. 80 cm L. 46 P. 64 cm
État d’usage, petits accidents et restaurations

Historique : un modèle similaire de chaises décorait les boutiques de Jeanne Lanvin du 4, Rond Point des Champs-Elysées et de la rue Boissy-d'Anglas à Paris
