Aguttes auction house, in Drouot, Neuilly-sur-Seine and Lyon, in collaboration with our experts specialized in free valuation and free appraisal sold at auction a French Restauration ormolu and patinated bronze mantel clock, an African is pushing a barrel in which is the dial.

 

PENDULE 'AU NEGRE POUSSE TONNEAU'
Bronze doré.
Pendule reposant sur un socle rectangulaire à pans coupés à quatre pieds en forme de cloche. Il est décoré d'appliques : couronne de fleurs sur les petits côtés, aigle sur les pans coupés et, sur la face antérieure, un motif composé de caisses, de tonneaux, de ballots d'un perroquet d'une ancre et de branches de palmier.
La pendule proprement dite est sertie dans un motif de tonneau qui est poussé par un jeune Africain aux yeux d'émail, torse et pieds nus. Il est vêtu d'un pantalon et ses bras sont ceints de bracelets de bronze doré bordés de motifs de perles.
