Valuation of a Sormani chest sold in our last auction


Column Appraisal and valuation, Furniture and works of art

Le Floc'h auction house, in Saint-Cloud, in collaboration with our experts specialized in free valuation and ffree appraisal sold at auction a 19th century Louis XVI style ormolu chest signed Sormani, Sunday 4th February in Saint-Cloud.

 

Commode à hauteur d’appui à ressaut central en placage de bois de violette ondé (fentes et accidents) ouvrant par un  vantail à décor d’une scène titrée “le serment d’aimer toute sa vie” en vernis européen dit Martin, reposant sur six pieds en gaine. Riche ornementation de bronzes ciselés et dorés tels que sphinges ailées à rinceaux et feuilles d’acanthe, frise de canaux, entrée de serrure, écoinçons, baguettes d’encadrement, sabots, tabliers, masques et branchages feuillagés en applique. Plateau de marbre fleur de pêcher (restauré).
