Valuation of a French Royal commode by Joubert in our last auction in Drouot


Column Appraisal and valuation, Furniture and works of art

Daguerre auction house, in Paris, in collaboration with our experts specialized in free valuation and free appraisal sold at auction a French Louis XV period Royal commode stamped Joubert from the royal castle of Fontainebleau, Tuesday 30th November in Drouot.

 

Commode en bois mouluré estampillée JOUBERT et JME d'époque Louis XV livrée le 10 septembre 1768 au château de Fontainebleau.
Elle ouvre à trois tiroirs en ceinture et repose sur des montants droits.
Numéro d'inventaire N° 2506 à l'encre.

Gilles Joubert (1689-1775). À partir de 1758, ébéniste ordinaire du Garde-meuble de la Couronne. En 1763,
Gilles Joubert obtient le titre d'ébéniste du Roi, succédant à Jean-François Oeben.
Livrée en 1768 d'un ensemble de six commodes en noyer ; en 1787, toujours à Fontainebleau chez un valet de
chambre du baron de Breteuil sous le N°934.
