Guillaume Le Floc'h auctioneer in collaboration with our experts specialized in free valuation and free appraisal will auction a French 19th century marble sculpture signed and dated Pierre Loison, major French sculptor of the second half of the 19th century, on Sunday 17th February in Saint Cloud.

 

Pierre LOISON (Mer, 1816 - cannes, 1886).
Diane et l'Amour.
Groupe sculpté en marbre de Carrare blanc (égrenures, petit éclat).
Diane assise vêtue d’un drapé, la poitrine découverte, porte à sa gauche un carquois et ses flèches et à droite debout sur son genou et tenu par son bras droit un amour. Elle repose sur une base moulurée.
Signée et datée en creux Pierre Loison 1868.
Haut. : 88,5 cm – Larg. : 43 cm – Prof. : 39 cm
Il repose sur une gaine en marbre de couleur.
Haut. : 86,5 cm – Larg. : 36 cm – Prof. : 29 cm

Pierre Loison (1816-1886), élève de David d’Angers, entre en 1842 à l’école des Beaux-Arts. À partir de 1845, il participe au Salon et il reçoit plusieurs récompenses. Il réalisa de nombreuses commandes officielles en particulier pour les Tuileries et le Louvre.
