Valuation of a Louis style commode after the one by Riesener in the chateau ofFontainebleau in our next auction in Orleans


Column Appraisal and valuation, Furniture and works of art

Philocale auction house, Matthieu Semont auctioneer, in collaboration with our experts specialized in free valuation and free appraisal will auction a French Louis XVI style marquetry and ormolu commode, after the model by Riesener, cabinetmaker of the queen Marie-Antoinette and today in the chateau of Fontainebleau, Tuesday 28th January in Orleans.

 

Commode à façade à ressaut trapézoïdal et côtés concaves à décor marqueté d'un panier fleuri, aiguière et flûte sur fond tabac et de quatre feuilles dans des encadrements d'amarante. Elle ouvre par trois tiroirs en ceinture et deux vantaux.

Riche garniture de bronzes ciselés et dorés tels que chutes, sabots, tablier et frises de rinceaux feuillagés.

Plateau en marbre rose du Languedoc.
