Valuation of a French mid 18th century parquetry commode in our next auction in Orleans


Column Appraisal and valuation, Furniture and works of art

Philocale auctioneer in collaboration with our experts specialized in free valuation and free appraisal will auction a large French Mid 18th century parquetry commode, Saturday 28th April at the chateau de La Fontaine in Olivet.

 

Commode à pans coupés à double ressaut central, marquetée de bois teintés sur fond de sycomore dans des encadrements de bois de rose. Décor d'un vase tronqué à l'antique au centre encadré par des losanges, frises de treillages à quatre-feuilles en ceinture et filets formant grecques. Elle ouvre par cinq tiroirs sur trois rangs sans traverse. Montants à cannelures et chutes à triglyphes simulés reposent sur des pieds cambrés. Garniture de bronzes ciselés et dorés tels que sabots, anneaux de tirage et entrée de serrure.
Trace d'estampille, probablement Pierre Denizot et poinçon de jurande.
Époque Transition Louis XV-Louis XVI.

Note :
Pierre Denizot, reçu Maître ébéniste le 1er août 1740, contribua à l'ameublement de plusieurs résidences du Comte d'Artois en particulier Maisons, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, le palais du Temple et Bagatelle.
